Older guys

Ok, I am sixteen (almost seventeen) and I was wondering if it was acceptable to hang out with guys that are older… but not way to old. They are nineteen. I hang out with some guys at a pool hall with six of my other friends who are also my age. We have known these guys for about a half a year or longer. Now, I should clarify what I mean by hang out because some people think sex. When I say hang out I mean play pool and literally hang out and listen to music. Is it wrong? Some of the people that I know that have never meet these guys think it’s horrible that I hang out with them, but I am never alone with them. Is it wrong? I am so confused… Is it ok?

I would say, it depends on the guys. If they are good guys, who enjoy your company, then I think it's okay (although legally, if someone wanted to cause trouble for these guys they could easily do so). When I was sixteen, I had nineteen year old friends. But these friends were connected to my friend's older brother. My parents knew them and trusted them. If these guys are bad news, then I would advise you stay away from them.

It sounds like you use good judgment - i.e.: you're not alone with them, make sure you're always with other girlfriends too and it's probably better you stay in the pool hall and dont go elsewhere , again, at least not alone
but there's nothing inherently wrong in hanging out in a friendly way with guys a few years older than you
