What's been your experience with online dating sites?

I've used online dating for the last few years. I met my current SO through match.com. BTW I'm 45. I feel online dating can be a great way to meet men you wouldn't normally come in contact with. You have to be careful and keep things slow, there are players on these sites. Make the effort to have many conversations online before meeting f2f. Also don't give out a lot of personal info to soon. One thing I did was to have a second e-mail address just for my online dating. That way when I didn't want to have further contact with someone they didn't have my main e-mail address. Always meet f2f for the first time in a public place and make sure you have your own transportation home. Don't drink much, if at all, on the first meet and keep it light.

Give it a try! I enjoyed OLD at times and at times it frustrated me to no end. But I say give it a shot it can be a lot of fun. Also, check out the Online dating board here, for tips and suggestions and moral support!

good luck,

I'm 49 and am currently in a relationship with a 36 year old man I met online (through Craig's List).

Sure, try match and other sites that are geared around hobbies and interests. Good dating sites and things you enjoy - i.e.: pets, etc.

Great advice - particularly like second email for online dating.
