Opening Up or Closing Off?!

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year. Things have been wonderful. Our relationship has continued progression although it has been slow-moving. Just a couple of questions, here:

He hasn't told me he loves me yet, but last weekend, after a small argument, he came to my house with a stuffed gorilla that says "I love you" when you push the heart that it's holding. I think I made too big of a deal out of it, though. I was really happy about it and made a couple of statements like, "Awww, you love me." Well, I'm worried that my reaction could make it harder for him to actually say it now - although he took a step in the direction, he obviously wasn't ready to say the words himself. Am I right? What now?

Also, I borrowed his spare key so that I could get into his house for something one morning. When I was giving it back to him, he said, "Maybe if I make some copies, someone can have one!" I told him I would love that. That was almost two weeks ago, and he hasn't done it yet. Should I ask him about it or just leave it alone?

All in all, things are great. I'm just curious about those two things, and I'm wondering if a man is able to decide one day that he's in love and begin to think about a serious committment, but then forget about how he felt? Or am I just taking things too literally?

Thanks for your help!

Leave the key issue alone. When he gets around to it, he'll get around to it. My roomate was living in my condo with me for two months before I got the mailbox key copied. I had a spare set of door keys already, or he would've been waiting for those too. Some people are just procrasinators.

It doesn't sound like your bf is very vocal. Take his kind gestures as expressions of love. Some guys (shy or not) have trouble with the L word, but that doesn't mean they don't love us.
