So the guy I've been dating calls me his "girl" and so do all his friends. Is this equal to "girlfriend" or is it different?

Generally speaking it's slang for girlfriend... but it could mean anything from "dating and almost exclusive" to "been his girlfriend for years." There's really nothing derogatory about the term.

How long have you been dating? How old is your boyfriend? These two things could also factor in.

Hi. I think if you have been dating seven months you are his girlfriend almost by default unless something truly bizarre is going on. Its is clear you have met his friends and they know you guys are together. Have you met his family? I mean if you said a few months maybe this would be a question mark but at seven months it has been plenty of time for you two to figure out who you are to one another.

Hmmm...calling you "his girl" after 7 months of dating. Are you dating seriously or hanging out? If you want to be sure of your status is in the relationship then ask him point blank. You may have met his friends and such, but there is a difference between being his GF and being "his girl". To me calling you "his girl" would be the equivalent of "I care for you but you're not the one, and I'll hangin out with you until the next best thing comes along".
