Some Good date ideas

I had a great first blind date the other day with a guy. He said he was going to call me tomorrow, so I am hoping he does. Talking with my guy friends about the date they say it's a good sign that he said a specific day he would be calling instead of leaving me hanging wondering if he will call. Anyways I am just looking for some date ideas in case he does call. We were supposed to go for a coffee originally but then he asked if I would rather go to dinner with him. (Which my guy friends said is also a good sign that he upgraded on the date right away, meaning he liked what he saw) So we have done the dinner thing and I understand that if we do continue to go out there will be more dinner dates but I would like to kind of come out some creative fun ideas other than the standard movie thing. Unless people out there think it would be safer to do the standard movie date for a second date. And yes I know I am getting ahead of myself because he still may not call. But I am really trying to stay positive. Thanks for the help/advice.

Did you like the guy and felt comfortable in his company? It's important to consider your feelings too, not only consider that "he upgraded the date to dinner because he liked what he saw". It sounds like you're on display. Remember that you are also an active participant in the date.
I'd leave the date creativeness to him in the beginning. A man who dates and is interestedv in a woman plans ahead and asks the woman for opinons regarding his choices. Coming up, yourself, with ideas for the second date might make him feel as his options aren't good enough for you. Traditionally, the man makes reservations and pays for his date and may take some suggestions. However, in these days women ask then out and pay for them as well. It depends on what type of woman you are.
He'll probably call late. It's something we have to do in order not to seem too eager or interested. As for creative, fun ideas...
Is there an amusement park near you? That could be good. Do you both like outdoor activity? How about white water rafting? Instead of a whole dinner, how about catching the sunset from some vantage point (if you live near one). If you live near a city, you might want to go to the top of one of the skyscrapers for coctails. There's always dancing (which I hate because I can't and won't dance, but if you both like dancing, that could work). Horse back riding? Indoor golf? Outdoor golf? Theater (as in live performance)? In New York we have horse and carriage rides in Central Park - anything like that near you? And there's always bowling.
There are loads of different types of dates you can go on.
How about:-
Theme Park
Ice Skating
Bowling
Picnics
Museum
Play Tennis / Badminton / Squash etc etc
A boat ride (if you are near a river)
A different type of meal such as a fun restaurant (maybe Greek where they get you up dancing)
