I happened to be at the bookstore last night, and bought a newer book by John Gray, "Mars & Venus On A Date". Let me tell you, I read the whole thing last night! And I would recommend this book to anyone who has just started a new relationship, or currently dating someone. There was SO much that made sense when I was reading it. As a woman, you get a much better understanding of men, what turns them on, off, and what sends them running. It helped me understand how men intrepret our actions and how to handle certain situations differently. The most important lesson I learned from the book is that if a man is interested in you, he will pursue you. And you should let him. He will call you, he will ask you out. And if you are interested, be receptive of his pursuing. Show appreciation for his gestures and enjoy what he is offering. Being overly available, needy, and even pursuing them can turn them off. Thankfully, so far into my 6 week relationship with my SO, I don't believe I have yet made any of the mistakes discussed in the book to "send him running". From previous posts, I had been considering having "the DTR talk" with him, but after reading the book, I realized that we are not in that stage of our relationship yet, and more than likely when he's ready, the discussion will come up. But in the meantime, I do know he's interested....He calls me, he emails me, and he makes plans and asks me out. And for now, that's all I really wanted to know.
Anyway, that's just my opinion, I would be interested in hearing from a guy that's read it, and get their take on it.
