If you sent someone a text and they didn't reply, would you send another one? Is it possible for someone not to get a text sometimes? Would you even try calling them? What are your thoughts on texting? Is it the same as a phone call?

Hey PG. :-)
I'm in the 'old school' category too. I do think all forms of communication (phone/email/text) serve a different purpose - for me anyway. Bf and I are LD, so first communication of the day is a call, but we'll send a quick text if either of us can't. During the day, we'll email if we can. If we can't, usually because we're too busy, we still want to keep in touch, so we'll text to let the other know what's going on. At night, it's back to the phone.
I think text is ok as a backup if you're time starved, or can't talk. I also think it's ok to use it as a quick way of confirming something ('talk to you later', 'call me', 'you gonna be around' type stuff). For having a conversation? Nope. We all know that sometimes it's not so much what's said, but how it's said that causes grief. Too cold, like you said, and also too much room to misinterpret tone.

*blushing* Thank you PG. Sincerely. You really made my night.
I think I'm pretty lucky to have a patient, understanding guy too.
