too nice?

Question: does telling your guy what you like about him, and telling him how the things he does makes you happy - is that being too nice or too "much"? Lately, i've noticed my guy saying things like, "i know you've said that before" or "alright, enough already" when i tell him little things i like, or commenting on how "smiley" i am. For instance, he made an impromptu trip out to my place last night; when he came over i told him that i was happy he came, and then this morning when we were saying goodbye, i said it again, and he was like, "yeah, so you've said many times already."

the thing is, none of my comments are over the top - i definitely don't fawn over him....

i just like him, and i like to tell him so when the thought occurs to me. should i put the brakes on that? do guys like it better when a girl is nonexpressive?

Usually being too nice means continually buying gifts or going out of your way to do sweet, special things. But in this case I guess he's uncomfy with receiving compliments - I believe you that you don't fawn.

He does compliment me, and when he does, boy talk about effusive. so i guess i just don't understand his reticence about my compliments to him.
thanks for your reply - i don't want to come off as "too much". i'll scale it back and see what happens.
