Ok, here's the deal...
A month ago I was involved in a car accident (We broke down and another vehicle hit us from the rear). To make a long story short...there was a young cop assigned to the case. (I'm 18 and He's somewhere in his 20s)... I've received a bit of advice and it's been established that he was flirting with me. I was unsure at the time, because...I don't know...I'm just that way, I never really think anyone's gonna actually be flirting with *me*.
Just to note: The young man was very professional throughout the whole ordeal. There were just little things here and there. (i.e: I was wearing a Dr Pepper tshirt one of the two days we'd met up with him... He was standing off to the side, on his phone getting directions for us and he asked me "Are you a Pepper?" Yeah, I thought that was cute.)
Anyway...it's been just over a month since I last saw him. And about a week since we've spoken to him on the phone. My mom had called him to ask a question and he was busy...said he'd call back - hasn't yet.
Since the evening I first met him...there was a moment of direct eye contact and I felt something. This type of thing seriously doesn't happen with me often. I've had offers before, but was always unable to reciprocate. This time, for whatever reason...I found that I actually liked the guy!
The problem is this: He's the cop that was on the case of the accident. Would this be appropriate?
And seeing as how I haven't seen him in a while...I wonder if he'd even remember me.
I have his number, but wouldn't begin to know what to say.
Any advice?

Pianoguy thinks your ivillage name is extraordinary....considering the fact that you're 18 years old and "yoda is considerably older!" ANYWAY...
I think you're "fantasizing" about the cop!
Considering your age, the accident and the fact that he could (inadvertently) jeopardize his job....do you HONESTLY BELIEVE he plans to contact you? If there's an 'accident related question'...possibly?
Otherwise....WHY SHOULD HE?
I'm surprised your Mom hasn't told you this already?

The name is basically based on the fact that I generally feel old. Physical age has nothing to do with it.
As far as the cop... No, I don't expect that he will be contacting me. And while I agree that a relationship could have the possibility of jeopardizing his job (obviously wouldn't want that) there's also a possibility that it may not. That is, if he's no longer on the case (as the investigation should be over with by now).
Perhaps I'll just wait. Maybe I'll eventually bump into him somewhere.
