I want to know if it is safe for a man to fully ejaculate inside of you while using birth control pills. Is it safe? Safe as in the possibility of getting pregnant, not about STDs.

Some info...

The only 100% effective way to not get pregnant is to not have sex.

Planned Parenthood and WebMD also have good information. You can search for both.

Typically, BC pills - if used perfectly - are 99% effective. It's really hard to use it perfectly, so it's really about 97% effective. Be careful though, there are things that can affect how well the pill works (whether you're taking antibiotics, for example).

I would suggest talking to your doctor/gyno to figure out what the best method is for you, so that you're comfortable with it.

good luck :)

I have been on the pill since 7 years ago (ortho tricyclen) and I take it everyday at about the same time (within 3 hours' range). There were definitely a few times where I forgot to take a pill and would take two the next day. I have never gotten pregnant. I think it's pretty safe. Of course I have heard stories of others who take the pills or other contraceptive methods but still got pregnant. I don't know how "perfect" and regular they were taking or using them.

If taken correctly, it's 99% "safe" ... and by "safe" I mean effective. How ineffective it is, though, is up to you (ie, skipping pills, not taking at the same time everyday) ... take it properly, and you should be fine.

If you're concerned about your ability to take it properly, you should talk to your gyno about other forms of BC. The pill requires a high level of responsiblity, on the woman's part, obviously.

When I used to take the pill (I stopped taking them last year), sometimes my then-BF would finish in me. And it's safe for me to say that I am definitely NOT pregnant =P

However, this decision really depends on how YOU feel about it, because there's always that slight chance that you could get pregnant. Like everyone's mentioned before, the only way to not get pregnant is to not have sex.

If you are going ahead with it, my advice to you is that in order for it to be as effective, is to keep taking it at the same time, everyday. Time it on an alarm or something in case you forget.

The Pill is the msot effective, safest method available now...especially if you take it regularly. I am 45, and have used the pill off and on my entire reproductive life. I have NEVER been pregnant, not even a scare. I take the Pill now even though I am not sexually active as I feel better when on it and have fewer cramps and more regular periods.

I believe that ANY of the available methods: pill, diaphragm, foam and condom, are highly effective if used prodigiously. I do not believe in the IUD as I see it as an affront to women and an abortifacient. I believe in Natural Family Planning if you have a regular cycle, as there are actually only 72 hours per month maximum in which you can become pregnant.
