I met a guy a few weeks ago at I party I had for myself...we hit it off. We've talked daily (literally), for up to like 3-4 hours, and we have a lot in common...only thing is..we havent even had an offical first date. Since our first meeting, we've hung out once, basically just sitting on my front porch talking...about EVERYTHING!

now...im ready for the real date. ive invited him out...he was busy doing xyz...then he invites me, and i was busy doing xyz...but at this point, im getting restless. I really do like him...but I dont want to wait on him and the official date forever.

Any advice on what I should do?

THANKS!

P.S. I know for sure he doesn't have a girlfriend, he's friends with my cousins (they dont know we talk) and me and my nosiness has discovered he is fully single...

When he asked you out and you were busy with xyz, did you provide an alternate day that you were free? If not, then I would assume the ball is in my court.

It's great that you have discussed so much already. My first husband and I talked all night and into the morning the first day we met. My second ex husband and I spent all night talking before we actually went on a date, as well. In some other cases I spent hours and days talking to men before the actual date. It can be frustrating, I know.

Try it one more time. During your long chats over the phone mention that you have the weekend or any day free and that you'd like to meet up with him. He'll consult his agenda and will get back to you. Unless somebody makes time for the first date, you'll be chatting on the phone for hours and hours for who knows how many more weeks.

Be casual about it, how funny it is how hard it is for two busy people who have such fun conversations to actually have some fun, quality time together and say, hey let's get out of datebooks, even if we go into '08 it would be cool to finally put something on the books
