Why no timely follow through from men?!?

Evening all....this is probably one of the oldest issues with guys in time so bear with me!!

I met this guy (he's a customer) over the phone at work a few months ago and 2 wks ago we were in contact again and we ended up having an hour long conversation about many things; including him wanting to meet me and wanting me to visit him (I told him to come to me 1st!). Before we hung up he asked for my number and said he'd call me the next day (on a Friday). He didn't call me until this past Thursday and we spoke briefly...he was still wanting to know when I was coming to see him. Yet again he said he'd call on Friday...and it's Sunday evening no call. I'm not sure if it's the "I'm gonna ice her phone game" waiting to see if I'll call him to show him I'm interested or he's not really as interested as he appears to be. If it is the ice game do I call or let him decide to call me or just let this go?!?!?

Why can they not just do what they say?!?!? I don't think it's too much to ask if you say you're going to do something to do it and not do it a week or so later. If you know you aren't or can't do it as stated don't offer it up!!!!

Please excuse the rambling but I'd appreciate any feedback...

I have no tolerance for flakes so a guy who consistently can't do what he says he's going to do gets crossed off my list pretty quickly, regardless of why.

Yes, they are rarer, but men who keep their commitments (even the small ones like calling when they say they are going to) DO exist. So if it's important to you, hold out for a non-flake.

Thank you for your response....

I really don't understand why it appears to be so difficult to just do what you say, especially if you know your going to call anyway...like he did even though a week later!

This dating thing is for the birds and I'm running out of bird seed fast :P

Boy time and girl time can be different, true but it's a huge pet peeve if someone says he'll call on a specific day and calls days later. It's one thing to say I'll call soon - then you're not hanging on tenterhooks waiting for the promised call. To me it's be your word. But when someone says a specific time and doens't follow thru I think it's ok to gently say something like
