All I've ever wanted was a girlfriend

HI, this is my first post. I am getting fed up with being alone and google searched for a message board an ended up here.
I'm 22 years old and consider myself a good looking guy. All I have ever wanted was a girlfriend. My whole life growing up, when my friends were just looking to hookup with girls I have always wanted something more. I've been with a few girls that some people would call a relationship, but it always ended up that I really wasn't into them or they didn't want to take it further. I'm from california and thought that the area I was in might be the reason that I could find anyone, so I moved up to Oregon. Since I've been here I've had the same if not worse luck. I really don't get it. With all the women that are in the world (or even my area) one would think that I would be able to find someone. I've been told I'm too picky, but honestly I don't think I am. There have been plenty of occasions where I thought a girl was attractive (physically or mentally) and no one else did. When I was younger I was super self conscious about my appearance and weight. Obviously my high school years were really crappy. Since then though I've drastically changed my lifestyle and dropped 50 pounds from 205. I feel the weight problem I had when I was younger was due to depression of not getting attention of girls. Even now though I'm still depressed maybe even more so, because I still have never been in a "real" relationship. I need help or at least some pointers, so anything is appreciated. If anyone has any questions for me Please ask.
Thanks

Your post makes you sound desperate and that may come through to the women you are dating.

Do you have any close male or female friends that you could ask to be honest and see if there is some behavior of yours that turns people off? I do agree that if you come across as desperate to have a "girlfriend" that may be off-putting, where if you act more casual, like you are just trying to be friends w/ the girl first, if something romantic is going to happen, it will in due time.
I have to say that sometimes you just can't figure it out. I have a DD who is almost 20 and she's never had a BF--she is smart, very cute and has a lot of male & female friends, so I can't figure out why she has never had a BF. But then again, I had a couple of BFs my senior year in h.s., basically didn't date at all in college, and then right after college I had a serious BF for about 1 1/2 yrs, then met my 1st DH right when I was turning 25, so you could say I was a late bloomer too. Although I would have liked a BF in college, it didn't stop me from having fun--I did a lot of stuff w/ my girlfriends, went out, went on vacation, etc. so I didn't feel I was really missing out on too much.
You sound like a nice man.
I don't think we can tell you what might be wrong because we are not sitting in front of you.
Sometimes you need an objective opinion on what it might be that is turning women off.
