Did not Return My Text Message All Day
| Thu, 08-14-2008 - 1:12am |
I have been dating someone for going on two months, this is the second time we dated. The first time was 5 years ago. Well, he travels for work occasionally, and sometimes he is so busy we just text each other twice

Sometimes it takes me a while to return text messages... not because I don't intend to do it, but because I may may be busy when I first receive it and then guess what? Life happens, I forget, I get busy doing something else, etc... sometimes my phone acts up (honest! :))
O.K.
How much energy does it take to respond to a text message, baby I am doing O.K. goodnight, or see you soon, ya know something....
Also, its bad enough I don't get a chance to see him that much, maybe twice a week if we are lucky, and I can forget it if it is during a trial. Sometimes, I wonder if he is using work as an excuse, although he might be working, he could still be more efficient with his time. He told me in order to be in his life, I have to be more patient. Is this true for you as well? Is your life so busy, where you don't have time for other people? If so why do you date, knowing you don't have what's required to put into a relationship? I think this is somewhat selfish. When he responded this morning to my message he did not address my text message he just said "good morning beautiful". At first it made me think "why didn't he address my issue". Second, I told him it would be a good idea not to text message each other. His response "XOXOXO, what does this mean?
I think it means, I don't care about your feelings, because if I wanted to text or call, I would have. It tells me he thinks his feelings and time is more important than mine, and either I should deal with it or go away. Let me also remind you that I tried to go away, but he stopped me by telling me he would try harder to be more attentive to me. He said he doesn't remember me being this high maintenance. Is this high maintenance? I thought this is what people do who date each other. We had spoken or communicated in some fashion every since we started dating again and yes every day. What makes this day any different? I don't know....I guess high maintenance means expecting someone to show consideration for someone other then themselves.
I would say that there are different types of lawyers.
He told me in order to be in his life, I have to be more patient.

Trying to resolve this through text messages while he's away and busy and stressed is really not a good idea.
First,
Thanks for helping me out with this. I think it's crummy to go through all the years of Law School and not be able to reap the benefits of
How do you know for sure he got it?
Is there a such thing as an honest lawyer? Well I can believe he is honest with me so far.
