Stop wasting your time and emotions on the ex'es, thats why they are called ex'es.

I think you are right to be skeptical--saying he loves you and that he missed you is NOT the same as saying he is capable of or wants a committed relationship with you.
I agree with you that not dating for a while is probably a good idea.
Update: Kicked him to the curb. Saw him again on Saturday, more talk of intimacy, connection, etc.
Didn't hear from him Sunday or Monday. On Tuesday I sent him a text saying that I was trying to make plans for the week, when did he want to get together (already, at this point, my Spidey sense was getting bigger). I get a text back that he was all booked up for golf this week and maybe we could do Saturday brunch...
OK, so on Saturday, the connection is amazing, you are so happy to be with me that you can't make any time for me in the next week? We live 7 minutes away from each other. When did golf become a night time activity? He doesn't even work!
My friend said to me last night that he clearly wanted me back only until the point that he had me. Once he "had" me, he reverted back to form. Soooo true.
I let him have it. I said that it was downright embarrassing that I am back to 'begging' for time from him, that I was not going to take a backseat to a game that is played during the day, when "I" have a job and school and kids. "I" can make the time for him!!! I also told him that if you have sex with a woman and then tell her you love her and you are so happy to have her back, that planning a week without even considering her is NOT COOL.
Good for you!
