OK, here's the background:

While I was away on vacation for a month, a guy who signed his name *T* kept writing to me on the dating site. It was fun thinking of meeting him when I got back.

Oh, forgot to add that I saw The Ugly Truth. Contrived, light, cute. Some clever dialog.

Great scene where she leaves the guy holding the phone. Yeah, games are played.

"I'll admit to wanting to see how he handles this one. Doesn't seem to have a clue that women like a nice, simple arrangement."

Well, Mr. Sneaky and I had a Saturday night meet scheduled. Had a really nice chat on Thursday, in fact, me blabbling away, telling him little tidbits, in a good mood, relaxed.

I was away for two nights, would be coming back and he asked me to call him when I got into town. We didn't have the place picked out; frankly I wanted to see if he'd come up with anything. But the time was pinpointed to 7:30.

So, I called him around 5:30. Left a short message.

And get this: nothing.

It's funny. You know how you just know sometimes that certain guys are never far from their cells, well, the second he didn't answer, I had a feeling. And it was right.

Can't say I'm angry. It's almost funny. Irritating, for sure, if only because it means there's another minor nutso case out there. "He can't commit," says my sister, who's heard the whole silly saga from the beginning. Yeah, maybe. This is the guy who wanted to meet and told me "It's just a glass of wine, not a trip to the alter."

Words. It's so true that a man who's a hassle right from the start is not worth a second chance.

Look, I'd rather err on the side of the nice person in the "do unto others" spectrum. Plus, he didn't stop me from going out and having a great time with my friends.

Next time, I'd say any guy who's caused even the slighest amount of drama before you've even had a first date should not even get the time of day from you.
