Too bad he doesn't live closer

I've been chatting (emailing) the "blind date" all week. Chatting more than we would have if we lived near each other (he's 4.5 hours away). If he lived close by, I'm guessing we would have gone out this weekend. Based on the trajectory of our emails, though, I think we probably could have gone out for a good month or so before realizing that we weren't "relationship" material. We would still invite each other to parties and group gatherings but not see each other romantically.

Back in the day, I would have said, "at least I didn't waste my time on him." At this stage in my life, I would have had lots of FUN wasting my time on him! (He's quite cute and a bit younger than me...) ; )

At least this has gotten my feet wet!

Hey, I think it's good to get out and have fun.... even with the ones that you know aren't long term material.

If you're just out there to have fun with dating then you should enjoy it - even if he is a couple of hours away. Enjoy :-)
Personally, I preferred to meet people within 20 miles of me - just in case I did meet someone so worthwhile that I may just date him exclusively. Three months ago, I met a guy whom I like a lot. He really likes me too, and now we're exclusive!Every time I see him, I am SO grateful that he is only 30 minutes away from me. It surely enhances our friendship knowing we can get together as often as we'd like. It's great having him so closeby because I really believe proximity nurtures a budding romance. Besides, gas is so expensive these day tehee ;-)
