I agree w/ Sherri. I think once you get past a certain age, age differences don't matter that much. I'm 51 and I would date a guy who was up to 10 yrs younger than me and not even care. When you are younger, the age differences matter more because you might have a 20 yr old who's still in college and a 25 yr old is working and maybe thinking about getting married.
I think people of any age could be compatible w/ each other--my best friend married a guy 26 yrs older than she is. They did get divorced after maybe 15-20 yrs of marriage, but it wasn't really due to age. I think the diff. comes when people are at diff. stages of what they want. You could have a younger person who doesn't want children, so the children issue wouldn't come up (of course people of the same age could differ on whether they want children). I think the problem generally arises when one person is in the stage of wanting to get married and have children and the other person is either too young to settle down or has done it before and doesn't want to do it again.
I see absolutely no problem with it at all, 5 or 6 yrs is not that much of a difference.

I think it depends on the relative ages more than the age difference itself.
