Does he?

I am not very old, just in High School and I;ve never had a "real" boyfriend. This guy is in my Homeroom, and has been for the past two years in a different school. We're more like school buddies. It was just recently his birthday and I told him I wanted to get him something, maybe to see a movie. I like this guy, and he made sort of a "Okay, It's a date" type comment, but then said j/k. We're going to hang out this weekend. But I think about that it's a date comment, could it mean maybe he's trying to see how I would respond to that? What do you think?

Who knows his reasoning but to me someone who says its a date doesn't mean we are going on a date but it is a date we have planned and will be doing together. Just go enjoy yourself and try not to worry about hidden meanings it will all come out clearly if he wants to date you.

Take it for what it is and have fun. At that age guys are funny about titles so maybe that is the case here. If he wasnt all that interested he would have turned it down. good luck!

If you can understand this concept at your age, you will be so far ahead of the game later. Take a comment for what it is and nothing more. Go out with him, have fun and if he likes you, you'll know... he'll act like it and you'll be able to tell. In high school, no one knows what they want so if he's not calling you every day and walking with you to class, don't take it personally, it just means it it might not be the right thing at the right time.
