Guys say STUPID things

I began seeing this guy in April when I went to vistit a girlfriend of mine, she is one of his roommates..we had met for the first time that weekend and instantly had an attraction to each other..I've seen him at least once a month since then, we live over 2 1/2 hours away from each other. We aren't too serious yet, and its known that we can both see other people....
Recently I went to visit for my birthday and another female friend of ours(the female roomate and I) went along too. Well this friend is sort of outgoing and was paying a lot of attention to my guy, but just sort of in a get to know you way, since she knows that I'm seeing him...
Apparently he took it the wrong way and thought that she was interested in him...in turn, my guy told his other roommate, who is a male(and gay) that he wishes he would have met my friend first...well the male gay roommate thought I should know the truth and told me what my guy had said...
I know my friend has no attraction to my guy, so I'm not worried about it..but I am hurt that he said that, what would make a guy say that and why wouldn't he have just kept that to himself...I haven't talked to him since I found out..so I'm not actually sure what to do about the sitation....?

This is a case of the gay friend opening his mouth when it didn't warrant a comment. So your guy thinks he has a conversation with his roommate about this. He was being honest and open and probably trusted this person to keep his confidence. If he really likes the other gal better he will eventually let you know. You have a long distance relationship and open to date other people...those types of comments are not unusual. He can say anything he likes about another woman. The problem lies in the fact that his roommate felt the need to inform you. You aren't his girlfriend and have no rights at this point. Maybe you should be angry at the roommate?

When I was in high school. I found out my bf had always wanted to date my gf, but since she wasn't allowed to date until she was 16 (we were 15 at the time), he went out with me. I was second fiddle, and yes, I found out from someone else.
It sucked. All I can say is, if you can forget and forgive, w/o telling him, then I would do that, move on, and realize maybe you weren't first choice, but you are more realistic choice, because your friend wouldn't ever reciprocate the feelings.
However, it also makes me wonder if he's just "dating you" until something better comes along, since you two can openly date others.
Hugs. I hope ppl have better advice. All I know, with my personal security issues, I couldn't deal. I'd probably confront him about it, and then, walk away.

If you are still interested, then be alittle standoffish, don't reply right away, and don't be overly eager to meet up with him. Miss a few phone calls, be busy and let him come after you. BUT if you are out with him, be happy and in a great mood... try to let it go, and see if he steps up his interest. There isn't much you can do if he likes someone else, but you can be this great girl that he's missin out on. He might just come running , let him chase you.
good luck!!
