How far is considered a long distance relationship? 4 hrs drive, how about 6 or 10 they both can be drive in a day so is it really that long distance since it is possible to drive down for a weekend if not every weekend. How about someone who works for an airline is 5000 miles to much? What do you think is the hardest thing with long distance romance? Is it really the time spent together? Or is more a mind thing where you know you can't which is what makes it harder? Let me know what your thoughts are...

Personally, I would never have an indefinite long distance relationship. If I met someone who was planning on moving to my area in the next couple of months I might date the guy but i wouldn't let myself get seru=ious until they were closer to me or I was closer to them.

For all practical purposes I've had a long distance relationship. I dated a guy who travelled M-F and was home on weekends. In some wyas it was nice, but i think part of our problems came from not being as open with each other as we would have if we were able to see each other more. I mena when you only see each other two days a week who wants to spend them fighting.

It just isn't a "real" world setting to me.

This may sound lame, but anything over a 30 minute drive is too far for me. I have dated a guy who could drive in 1.5 hours to see me and it was too much. I HATED it. I want to be able to drive and see my guy, when I want, and when he wants. NOT when traffic allows. And anything requiring a plane flight is definitely too far. lol.

Also, someone will eventually have to move. And I need to know that he will move to me, or I will eventualy want to live where he is. 30 min drive may not be far (30 miles or so for me), however, it's enough to live somewhere where I don't WANT to live (aka Los Angeles, yuck).

BTDT, never doing it again.
