I'm falling for him... is it impossible?

What a terrible situation I'm got myself into. I really need some help and support with this... please! Only two weeks ago I met this guy at a party and we started talking. Had fun immediately. We also met the day after with out other friends. We have had common friends all the time and have found out we have been to the same parties before but still never met.
So then he added me to his msn and we have been IM:ing each other ever since... we have so much to talk about. I met him at a party a couple of days ago and we spent the whole night together talking and dancing. We couldn't keep our hands off each other (nothing happened though, not even a kiss). Then I hear from his friend that he has a girlfriend in his home town.... Well I still like him a lot so I wouldn't not be friends with him just because he has a girlfriend. I wasn't that sad... but then yesterday me and my friends had a bbq and he and his friend joined us... and now we started talking really seriously. Found out we have so much in common and when we talk time just flies! Then I joined him and his friend in his apartment and we had icecream and drinks and talked a lot and had so much fun! Today they came to visit me at the coffee house I work at and he always find ways to see me and I to see him. We have become really good friends in such short time.
Tonight we talked for like 1 1/2 hours online.. amazing how much we have to say. Now he actually mentioned that his girlfriend is coming to visit this week... he didn't sound too enthusiastic though.. and he quickly changed the subject when I asked him about her.
Then he is going home to his home town to work the whole summer, he leaves in only one week.
The thing is... I'm falling for him.... we have such a wonderful connection. He said it's always so nice to talk to me and that we always have such good times together.
I just know we could have the most amazing relationship... I can just tell. I miss him now already! And I saw him the last time this morning.
Why do all the best guys have girlfriends. This just kills me... I know he likes me a lot, I can tell. But I guess there is nothing to do... especially when he's going home for 9 weeks. I guess I just needed to vent and would apprecite any comments or thoughts on this situation. Thanks for reading this long message...

i bet his girlfriend wouldn't think he's such a nice guy knowing the way he behaves when he's not around her.
"Why do all the best guys have girlfriends?"
they don't. there are lots of nice guys who don't go behind their girlfriend's backs and pursue other girls. apparently "having a girlfriend" doesn't mean a whole lot to him - or he's just waiting for another one to come along so he's never without female attention and so that he'll have an instant replacement.
it's nice and all that he's so friendly... but i would tell him to give it a break until he is single and not a minute before.
"he actually mentioned that his girlfriend is coming to visit this week... he didn't sound too enthusiastic though.. and he quickly changed the subject when I asked him about her."
typical.
sorry to burst your bubble.
