2-3 months wouldn't be unheard of. It depends on the guy, they're not all the same. Some of them want to know if they have real feelings for you before they make a definitive move, and it may take some time getting to know you to get to that point.
If you're really impatient then maybe you should do the dirty work yourself...!

Do you think it might be a problem if you're pretending to be someone you're not? I'm not sure if that's the case but I hope you're not changing yourself too much to win this guy. Just some food for thought.
