Is there any hope?

I dated my boyfriend for 8 months. We just split up 3 days ago because we work together and its not allowed. So, for 8 months we've been doing a great job of keeping it a secret. Until I screwed up majorly by leaving a link on my work computer with evidence that I'm dating this guy. A girl in my office saw the link, and immediately told the entire place where I work. My boyfriend told me we had to take a break until I find a new job. So we haven't talked to each other since, except for the two minutes I caught him alone in his office. I asked him if he still loved me and he said yes. I told him I'm having a hard time without him. He said it was tough for him too. We've been text messaging each other and he's really upset and hurt because he thinks I left the link deliberately. He tells me he is so torn, that he wants to be with me but he won't even think about getting back together until I take a new job. I guess what I'm asking is, how can I tell if he is sincere about getting back together? I'm definitely changing jobs, but for reasons other than him. Here I'am, clinging to any kind of hope that we'll make it, but in the back of my mind, maybe he's just saying this so I will leave and then he'll never have to worry about me again. Also, I'am sincerely and truly sorry that I screwed up by leaving the link on the computer. How can I let him know that I didn't do it on purpose and I will do anything to gain his trust back? I want to be with him more than anything. Any advice is greatly appreciated! I'm just so upset, because 5 days ago, he was talking about how much he loves me and that he can't wait until the day we get married. I'm so confused, so in love, but so frustrated. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like he wanted to break up with you. If a guy loves you, he would still be dating you.....work obstacles or not.
Maybe he contrived some of the work controversy. You might have left the link open, but he rolled with it. I mean, did anyone from HR have a conversation with you about the "no dating" policy? Did the two of you get reprimanded?
That sounds weird to me. I've never heard of such a thing.
