What am I supposed to do????

I haven't visited this board before because I never really had anything like this happen to me. I'm confused and need some imput.

I met this guy (we'll call him P) who works at the local bank. One day I got the courage to ask P out. And we've gone on two dates, talk just about everyday and I'm completely smitten. And I don't think it's one-sided.

Ok, here's where I begin to slightly panic.

Tomorrow we're supposed to spend the day together. Cool. P wants me to meet his mom and best friend. Panic. Do you give a gift to P's mom? I know you're supposed to act natural and all, but what do you do? He only asked if I wanted to see her since she's in town and she's leaving tomorrow. And the best friend, it's two fold. I want to see this guy so I get to know who hangs around P. But that's another first impression I have to make. I'm just nervous about it all. But I like P, he's like no other guy I've been out with. He makes me feel special and I feel that I can be myself. I like him, but I don't want to ruin the first impressions to some of the important people in his life.

Help!

Miss Marie,

This is not an audition - this is your opportunity to get to know him a little better. After only two dates, you really don't know him that well anyway.

Be your pleasant, charming self and most of all, be yourself.

And no, no need to buy his mother a gift.

Good luck :) Remember, you don't have to talk a lot, a smile goes a long way.

I agree, just be kind courteous and respectful. I personally have never bought anyone's mom a gift unless it was a holiday or something, but I think that if you really think you should then just a small boquet of flowers would do nicely. Not too bold but a sweet gesture at the same time. Good luck!!
