3 free day trial on match.com
| Thu, 12-29-2005 - 11:10pm |
I've been on match.com in the past....but not for a few years. I have done yahoo personals in the past few months, and couldn't get ONE date :O
Can I take advantage of the 3 free day trial on match without paying for the month? (I want to see if I get any bites in 3 days....if not...I don't want to put out the $30 bucks.)
If anyone wants to check out my profile for me and give me some pointers....lovesblueflowers on both match and yahoo.
Many thanks :D

Good point...For me using the site for free is a red flag...Either they aren't serious about finding a long term relationship, or they don't have enough money to pay for the service....either one is a deal breaker for me.
However, I do think it is a good idea to take advantage of the free trial before you pay, if you find during your free trial that you get enough responses (and the types of responses you are getting) would warrant paying for the service.
Maybe 3-4 years ago I was getting so many dates from both Yahoo and Match. Then I began a LTR (with someone I met from yahoo...go figure!) We were together for 1 1/2 years....plus a couple of trys at reconciliation. Now I know we are NEVER getting back together (my choice....)
When I decided to get "back on the wagon" a few months ago, I signed up with Yahoo. I e-mailed so many guys and got NOTHING back or "we're not right for each other" it was completely discouraging. My profile even says something like "fun/flirting/see what happens"....I knew I needed to DATE...not necessarily jump back into another LTR. So...I was SO discouraged when I sent out SO many emails on Yahoo and got nothing back :( I had luck 4 years ago...why not now?
Also....since August, I have made a total lifestyle change....I am on the Weight Watchers CORE program - lost 35lbs since 8/1 and I'm determined to lose another 35 before May - not for a guy BUT FOR ME. It has been a complete mental and physical UPDATE for me.....such a positive thing....and still....no dates...lol. I do have a some "fish" nibbling at work - but no bites.
Not sure what my point was....lol. Just needed to vent I guess. Thanks for listening.
Congratulations on your weight loss! That is incredible - I have seen many people be very successful on Weight Watchers and it looks like it's working for you. I have put on a little weight over the holidays myself and will probably start up with my points counting again after the first of the year to lose those holiday pounds but I have had several friends lose 25-40 pounds on WW. Great job!
Now, I don't mean this in a mean way either, but I wonder about your pictures on Match - I checked out your profile and it is very good - upbeat and fun. But are your pictures current after your weight loss? Since you've been so successful, if they are older pictures, you might consider getting some new ones to show off your new figure! Regardless, I do agree with the other poster that said put the one where you are smiling as your primary photo. It's really cute and fun.
I don't disagree with you in principle, but I at least want to see who's emailing me before I pay! I'm not going to waste $30 a month if there's no one emailing me I'd be interested in dating.
I'll stick with the sites that at least let you see who's emailing you. I hate match anyway, and this latest change just gives me another good reason not to give them any more of my money.
