Hey ladies,
I'm trying to wean from CL and I'm now on Y! Personals. It's like a whole new different world! lol!
Question: What does it mean when they display the "active during last 24 hours" or "last 3 days", etc? It's sort of confusing me.
I know that it probably means the last time they've been checking or logged onto the site. So, when it says "active during last 24 hours", they've been on the site recently. But if it reads "active during 3 days", they haven't been on the site for the last 3 days.
I ask this question because yesterday, I sent an email to a guy who was active during the last 24 hours, but when I checked his profile today, it now reads "active during last 3 days". How is that possible?
Also, if a profile reads "active during last 2 weeks", are you to assume this guy's no longer available? (Jeepers, don't I make it sound like it was a job posting or something? lol)
Thank you all for your help!
Trying to get the hang of this dating site,

My impression is that it becomes "during the last three days" once it goes a bit over 24 hours. They don't have a "two day" category that I have noticed.
I don't know about "past two weeks" but I've taken to looking only at profiles that have been active in the past week.
Yes, it is when they were last on the site. Those are approximations. A person will stay at "24 hours" until they reach 3 days. There is no "48 hours" or "Two days" so the jump goes from 24 hours to 3 days and that span in between, they stay at 24 hours. Make sense?
And no, I would not assume that a guy is "no longer available" if it's been "two weeks" or more. Good grief, I would hope not two weeks!!! I would more likely assume that he is not a paying member, not a person who frequents the site much, hasn't found much to look at there, doesn't get many responses or perhaps is really busy, out of town or just doesn't care. In any case, none of them are really rousing reasons to contact them. I don't log on too often - maybe once or twice a week, but I think anything longer than that is not a great sign.
It doesn't update the "active clock" if you will unless you go onto the Personals page. However, if you allow others to see you're online, it will show the yellow smiley face in your profile whenever you're on Yahoo in general, not just on Personals.
