Advice?

I am meeting a guy I met online this upcoming Saturday. I know all the rules, meet in a public place, and that other advice. But I don't drive, let alone have a license. I know you should arrive in separate cars, but without one what do I do? I want to meet this person. Any advice?

Is there any place close to that you could walk to? If not, what about a taxi or public transportation? Or having a friend or family member drop you off and either hang around a while or that can come pick you up pretty quickly when you are ready to leave? Just asking, but how do you get around to things now? Work/school, the store and so forth? Surely you have some mode of getting around that wouldn't be dependent on this guy. But definitely do not let him pick you up - you really don't know anything about him so better safe than sorry. Good luck!

I was going to suggest having a friend drop you off, too. She could even call you after a half hour/hour or so and she could be your *out* if you are not having a good time....

Since you don't drive you don't have the option of "taking off" if he is not at all what you expected....so a friend standing by could be a very good thing.

I may actually borrow her tonight....lol.

Thanks. Yeah, I could have my dad drop me off. My dad drives me to work, but I am only working for another three weeks, because I am seasonal help. I was also thinking about the taxi too. Thanks for the advice. I also want to know, when is it safe for you to climb into their vehicle?

I think you have to get a feel for him....If he seems ok, I'd say by the 3rd or 4th date. Go with your gut feeling. Don't do it if you don't feel safe in every way.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Sometimes I need level-headed people. I tend to go space cadet, so thank you for your comments, and not going off the wall.
