I have had 4 guys contact me (apparently members because they emailed me through Yahoo) but I'm not a paying member. There is only one that I would like to reply to but I'm not a paying member. I could sign up for the 7-day thing and then cancel, but I'm not sure I want to go through the trouble just to have someone ghost on me! I've already used my one quick response thinking he would get the hint that I'm not a subscriber
Nope, no other suggestions, that's about all you can do is send the icebreaker in response to their email and hope they figure it out (I like to use the one that says "hope to hear from you again soon" in that situation).
I agree, I would wait until you get a couple more guys you're interested in before using the 7 day free trial.
Well, you can't attach a photo to the emails you send through the personals mailbox (or at least *I've* never been able to figure out a way) so I wouldn't ding him JUST for that...you'd have to move to "regular" email for him to do so.
I think I'm going to wait a little. I don't get a lot of responses and I just edited my profile some since the last time (I paid for 1 month last time then cancelled). Anyways, maybe he will figure it out that I'm not a paying member. If he doesn't figure that out, hmmm, kinda makes me wonder about him.
I looked up the thing about attaching photos through Yahoo and it CAN'T be done, but Yahoo is supposedly working on that.
Sheri, I hate to sound like a complete moron but....if I was online with Yahoo messenger, could the person that contacted me click on the "online now" and instant message me without me being a member?
I know this was covered I think earlier this week, but it wasn't clear to me.
So, if I'm online with Yahoo Messenger he could contact me? Gosh, I feel so stupid! LOL!!
I pulled up his profile again and sent him an Icebreaker saying like your profile tell me more. Surely after the early quick response and this icebreaker he could figure it out.
You don't need to be a "paying" member to belong to Yahoo personals or any part of Yahoo. I met my husband through Yahoo Personals because I set up a profile "free" but he set up a "paying" Yahoo personals but was smart enough when he emailed me to give me his personal email address so we could correspond through email.
The only drawback with being a non-paying member on any dating site is that you can't solicit emails first. You simply have to wait until they email you fist then you two can correspond once he gives you their personal email address. I belonged to Match, Yahoo and American Singles simultaneosly and never once paid for those sites.

No, none of the online sites show that, to my knowledge.
