any POF success stories?

Hi.
I signed up at POF today and am wondering if anybody's had success with the site? I just emailed one guy tonight. Don't know if he'll contact me, but I am hoping (trying real hard not to put all of my eggs in one basket). If there is a success story, could it be based on location? I am from NYC.
I am also a paying member on Y! P, but for some strange reason, I'm not attracting anybody. I put myself as "searchable" on Monday and today's Thursday and only 1 guy has viewed my profile! Usually, well, most of the time, I get the "crazies" and the "undesirables" contacting me or viewing me right away when I'm "searchable". Anybody has a thought on why I'm not being viewed that often now?

I met my bf on POF, & its been just a bit over a year now
So lately I am having success with pof, and think you will to if you stick with it.
I was on Plenty of Fish a few months ago and I did end up meeting someone and dating them. It was definitely unexpected though because I wasn't interested in anyone else from the site. I would stick it out and just see how it goes!

A good guy-friend of mine got amazingly lucky. He is tall and ultra smart but not particularly attractive, and he's bald to boot. He joined POF for a year and got almost no responses. Then he was contacted by a girl who said his profile is just what she wants -- she loved nerds.
They have been dating for about a year. She is a decade younger than him and is one of the most beautiful, sexy petite women I know (I have gotten to know her pretty well over the year) and basically dotes on him, hangs on his every word and wears the greatest outfits for him. They are both super duper nice people to boot ... it is almost alarming to find out that someone who looks like this tiny little sex vixen is actually low-key, funny, and amazingly caring and kind.
He is like, this sexy angel just came out of heaven and found me for absolutely no reason. So the POF thing must be pretty good!
No particular dating website has THE magic formula. It's pretty much in the hands of Fate. You happen to be on a website at the same time as someone else who spots you. Maybe the day before or day after one of you would have left the site and would have never met.
I've had more luck with paid websites because I figure there are fewer timewasters and moneywasters, so they're more serious. There are still plenty of jerks, though, just like in real life! I am hoping the prices come down eventually because of all the free sites now.
The free websites have a lot of losers, marrieds and people just looking for sex. A lot of fake profiles, too, with nothing but gibberish in them, so I figure they are people spying on others, maybe looking for their own husband or wife to see if s/he is cheating. There are also lots of ads on the pages and generally they aren't as attractive visually and can be a pain to sift through, especially if you don't know how long the profiles have been there or if they are even active.
