Well, I've written before about a guy I met on yahoo who I started dating a few months ago. Today I broke up with him. It had been obvious (at least to me) that we had very little in common and we should both find someone more compatible. The thing is we had only 4 actual dates. He canceled numerous dates due to work and family problems (ill parents) and the last time we actually saw each other was 6 weeks ago. He called me every day, sometimes twice a day, even though as I've said here and to him, I don't like talking on the phone. I know that one of the reasons I let it go on this long is not wanting to go back to the OLD treadmill. This guy actually seemed to want a serious relationship, which immediately set him apart from most men I've met.

Lately I kept hoping he would dump me, but since he told me he loved me on our 4th date (I think I mentioned that here), I knew it would be up to me. It wasn't easy, since I am the reigning Queen of Non-Confrontation, and I feel a little sad, but I also feel very relieved. We just weren't right for each other.

So now I'm back on match (I never actually took my profile down). I got a very nice email from a guy I winked at last week, so we'll see. At the very least, it gives me hope.

BTW -- LG once suggested "Back to Coffee Date Hell" as my new headline on match. Oh, I am so tempted! Though it may be a tad negative :)

Usually when someone says they love you that soon they are in love with the idea of love.
