Just an update - I've been on vacation the last couple of weeks with Kelly and his kids. It was a whirlwind trip - backpacking in Glacier National Park, digging for dinosaur bones in Alberta, rafting in British Columbia, going to a CFL game in Vancouver, then to Seattle for an amusement park and a Mariner's game. We had so much fun, but I am completely exhausted. It was so strange to come back to my apartment alone. It is way too quiet here.

But the best part of the trip was on the second morning of backpacking. We were standing on a beach with waterfalls on the other side of the lake. Kelly takes me to the side and asks me if I think this is a beautiful place. I say yes, then he asks me if I would marry him and find more beautiful places with him. I say yes again and he puts the ring on my finger. It was so gorgeous and just perfect. He had asked the kids on the flight to Seattle what they thought about him marrying me and they were very excited. So, we spent that day's hike discussing baby names. LOL

I dropped them all off at the airport this morning and was a wreck. It will be two and a half months until I see him again and it feels like an eternity. But hopefully in six short months I'll be flying to Hawaii for the last time, permanently.

The board has sure been busy the past couple of weeks and I would have loved to get involved in some of the discussions. Nice to see this board so active!

Welcome back and congratulations on your wonderful news!

Sounds like an amazing vacation and then at the icing on the cake, a proposal at a waterfall! Lucky you!

All the best for you and I hope that the time until you see him again will pass by quickly! Hey you can start thinking about a wedding now, that should keep you busy for a while.

Thank you! I am hoping the time passes quickly too! He gave me a list of things I'm required to do, including going out dancing, biking, running, etc in the hopes that I won't sit around the house and pine away. lol I'm sure I will still pine a little, but I'm glad he really wants me to go out and have fun.

I haven't really thought much about the wedding yet - just excited that it is all official now!

I am definitely doing the happy dance! We have been unofficially engaged for months, but it is nice to have a ring and be able to tell everyone. And the best part of it was how excited the kids were that we were going to be getting married and how much they want to come live with us in Hawaii. That was definitely a huge bonus.

Thank you!

We have thought about the type of wedding we want for a while now and are seriously considering just the two of us with a minister on a beach in Hawaii. I think that would be the most perfect, romantic ceremony I could dream of. The problem is that his daughter (9) really wants to be there for the wedding, so we may have to do another ceremony later. At the moment though, I am just really excited about being married and finally spending all my time with him. This long distance thing is getting really, really old!
