Bikini shot ?

Summer is coming fast: I am thinking of renewing my backstage pictures: I am thinking of adding a picture of myself sitting in a long chair, in “classic normal coverage 2 piece suit” with a book on my lap. The picture is in my POV more of a candid shot than a super sexy one. Mind you, I am very picky about whom I give out backstage passes to: Would you:

A)Forget about posting a bikini picture, it’s asking to trouble and giving out a bad impression.
B)Post the picture for a while and see what type of reaction you get from it.
C)Simply post the picture, because you tell yourself this picture was taken in public anyway.

PS:I tried making a poll out of this post but it would not fit the available setting

Thanks again
Winnie

Yes, someone did say that and yes it is untrue.

No posters here implied it was trashy except for the OP. No posters replying to her said it.

Sorry for causing such a stir...
It is just that I am conscious that there is a thin line between what is "tasteful" and what is not. I don't think that posting a picture of myself in a bikini is un-tasteful. Especially given that, in the photo I was planning to post I am quietly sitting down with a book on my lap, smiling, as opposed to, for example, lying on my side with hand on my hip glancing at the camera with a “bedroom look”. I hope that you’re now able to get a clearer picture of that I was trying to express earlier by using the word “trashy”. However, now, thanks to your outputs, I am more aware that there are consequences to posting a picture of this nature. If I offended anyone by using the word "trashy" please accept my apologies.

Nobody is offended don't you worry winnie.

There is nothing wrong with a bikini at all, I just think by posting a bikini shot you'll be attracting the kind of men you don't want to attract, having been in the online dating world there are enough creeps out there you don't want to be inundated by them.

I was just trying to say you should not feel trashy if you post such a picture. I'm not offended nor did I mean to offend anyone. I just feel that if being in a bikini at a beach reading a book is something you enjoy in your leisure or lifestyle by all means post it. I think it will attract guys who like to do the same or even go fishing while you go to the beach. I am focusing more on the interest/actvity you enjoy being shown, not just the bikini and there are many decent men who will feel that way too. The book will probably scare the sleazy dummies away anyway. haha

I had a bikini shot on my profile for months. OLD is a numbers game, it did get my numbers up. I asked the one guy that I got intimate with and dated for 6 months what his impression was....he is answer was that it gave the impression of "she screws"....I do (when my profile is active) get alot of attention, not all bad, but you do need to be very careful on first meets....Teri

HI Terrilee,
I agree with very much . Plus, I think I had a false sense of security giving the fact that since I use Lavalife, the picture would only be available in my "backstage" and I AM able to control who sees the picture. But now after all this chatting about it , I am not so sure it is a good idea. But I was thinking that as one of you said many men post picture of themselves in their Speedos on dating dates and like you said we sunbathe in public at a beach or near pool... I understand why one has to be careful and on the other hand I don't...

Don't you love those double standards or what.... I am joking ;-) Maybe I should just save the bikini/ novel by the pool picture for the honeymoon;-P

Thanks again everyone
