OK, so here's a new one...this guy seems to think it's a technical issue with yahoo of why his age is wrong.

Actually, he may be telling the truth. I'm am pretty sure that Yahoo only recently changed their profile system so that you put your birthdate in, and it didn't used to automatically update your age. So if he joined a couple years ago, that might be why. And he may not look at his own profile that much.

That said, for him to respond so defensively is definitely not cool and I think you are right to next him!

I believe him.

I entered my correct age/DOB on my yahoo profile, but I can't edit it because their system thinks I'm under 18. It also shows my age as 38 on the profile, but I'm 41.

Why was it so easy for you to assume he was lying?

Yeah, if I remember Yahoo, you used to put in your AGE rather than birthdate and it was up to you to make sure you changed the age and you had to kind of go looking for it to change it so unless you made an effort, it didn't happen.

I know you're not new to OLD...but you're asking that question????

Oh, I got a good laugh from that.

Peanut,

Do you honestly believe that this man would lie for a 2 year difference? You were a bit hostile towards him and I don't think he deserved that. You need to relax a little and don't interrogate the poor men. It would be different if it was a larger age difference and more apparent that he was lying and even then it wouldn't be worth my time to call that to his attention.

You will not find success in OLD if you throw so much negative energy into it. Have some fun Peanut don't take it all so serious.

I've posted about this before but just about every guy I've seen on yahoo in my age group (40s) puts "I'll tell you later" for age, so I just assume the "age" under his photo is a lie.
I never realized until I started OLD-ing how many men lie about their age -- I know it's mainly so they'll appear in the searches of younger women, but it' still lame, IMO.

Sorry, I don't blame him for being annoyed.

You asked, he explained, and yet you wouldn't let it go.

If someone kept insisting I was a liar, I'd tell them to get over it, too.

I think what surprised me Peanut was that you immediately didn't give him the benefit of the doubt that it could be a system issue with Yahoo. Have you become that jaded in the dating world?
