A Challenge...
49
Thu, 10-13-2005 - 10:11pm

So ya'll know I'm big into challenges, right? Well if you didn't, then now ya do. LOL

Ladies and gents, a challenge, should you choose to accept...

Tomorrow I'd like you to go up to a complete stranger, find a chance to smile and start a conversation. No rules about what you talk about or how long you speak. The only rule here is that it has to be a member of the gender you are looking to have a relationship with and you have to find them attractive.

If you decide to join the challenge, post back here tomorrow regarding who you talked to, what his/her reaction was and what you talked about. And also share any thoughts surrounding your experience.

(For those of you wondering why I'm suggesting this, it's just to open up yet another avenue of opportunity for us!)

Good luck to all. I look forward to reading about those who accepted this!

I wonder if I'll run into such a specimen at Wal-Mart...lol. Speaking to the opposite sex is easy. But finding one I think is attractive - whole 'nother story. I will try though. Can I have til Monday though? There is this one dude in my gym......

I'll try it but I won't see any strangers at work. I'll hand in my homework next week.

Well if Hal is going to do it, I can jump on the bandwagon too. I'll have to report back on Monday though since I have a date with the sofa tonight! I'm tired but over the weekend I'll take the test. I may try to do the approach thing several times -- build up my confidence. Will report back on Monday.

See Hal, it's all about options!!! Good luck!!

Ok, fair enough... I'm thinking in the NY mentality where I hit into about 1000 strangers a minute! LOL Sorry about that. ;o)

Everyone has the weekend to talk to that person... :o)

Okey dokie...I'm always up for a good challenge. Though I actually do this every day. I'm a bartender in San Francisco, a block from City Hall.
As a rule I try to show some restraint when it comes to flirting up customers, but maybe I'll step outside my box this weekend. Of course there's also the gym and the new art museum opening tomorrow, so the opportunities certainly are there.
I'll report back on Monday.

I do just that every Saturday at the suppermarket. I'm a NY'er also, so you should know just how snotty and stuck up a lot of NY'ers are. I don't let that deter me though, I'm very social and enjoy talking to different types of people. I usually talk on average to a dozen or so people, great fun, but it usually ends no where; 99% of the guys are married. It's funny though sometimes when the husbands are talking to me and the wives show up, boy do they give me a dirty look. I try to smile back and talk to them too, but sometimes they just are plain nasty. I don't feel bad though, afterall we were just talking, I wasn't hitting on him, married men are not my thing. I don't know why some women are so insecure. I just look at it as socializing and I enjoy it, even if it ends up going nowhere as far as meeting single men, it makes the shopping trip go along quicker and enjoyable. Good luck to you all this weekend.

Can't do it. I'll be a a horse show all weekend. All the attractive men will be gay. Or the married dads of the riders.
