Challenge -- Have a Meet by Week's End.

Back by popular demand... the OLD challenge returns! (Thanks Chelle)
This week's challenge should you dare to accept is to meet a person you've been communicating with or one that you'd like to communicate with by the end of the week.
Now here's the rules:
- You have to go outside your boundaries and initiate it.
- If you get turned down, find another person to meet.
- Have fun (remember, you're just meeting a person)!
- Be safe... meet in a public place and use your own transportation. (If you need help with this one, ask.)
- And finally... share your experience with us. Let us know how it went, how you felt, did it force you to wander into unchartered territory (where you usually don't initiate meets)?
What's the point? To stretch your wings and move out of that familiar place where you let life happen to you. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans..." So go make some!

I would, but I'm still on my 90 day hiatus ;-)...almost half way through ;-).

Some guy responded to my ad that I had posted on CL a few months ago. Anyway I replied (out of sheer boredom at work) and we have been chatting! I was out of town last week (NY) and he was traveling on business (CT) and we are suppose to meet tonight. It's not a date; basically I am going to a Spoken Word event tonight and he works in the vicinity. I told him I would call him and drop by so I can meet him! If not, he mentioned going out Friday or Saturday night! Of course, he didn't mention WHERE or WHAT we would be doing!
It's a shame, but I like the "drive-by" way of meeting these guys. Being available for a Friday/Saturday date with a possible flake and spending 1-3 hours, just seems like a waste of my time!
I guess that would mean after tonight, I have met the week end challenge! I'll let you know how the drive-by goes! I'll keep my foot on the gas pedal though, just in case! LOL
Just a note to say the date went well. He was pretty much as advertised in his ad (very tall....6'4 and athletic build) and a perfect gentleman. I think we were both a little nervous initially, but seemed to get along well and conversation flowed pretty good. After dinner, he asked if I'd be interested in going to get a drink somewhere. All told, the date lasted about four hours.
He seems nice. We'll see how things progress.
I had my "drive-by" meet and greet at the local QuickTrip gas station near where the guy works. We both were a bit nervous but eventually the conversation flowed. It was pretty superficial -- just talked about surfacy stuff - our car, mentioned I need tires, so he was checking them out and then we both walked into Q-Trip so he could purchase some bottled water and asked if I wanted anything. We ended the quick meet and he asked that I call him when I got home. I obliged and stated over the phone that I enjoyed meeting him and he replied stating that we will see each other again and that he would be in contact.
I was pretty neutral about him (don't really know much about him) but physically he was attractive. The meet was on Thursday and as of today, have not heard from him.
