I don't know about anyone else but I am tired of the "dinner and a movie" date....So lets share some ideas......

Horseback riding, touring the local wineries, ice skating....what was the most fun you have had on a date?

some ideas:

petting zoo
county/fall festivals
apple picking
bowling
picnic in park
flea markets
mini golf
drive-in movie
museum/history re-enactment
H.S Football game

I always check my local paper for any special upcoming events. And also visit the Tourist visitor center. Not only do they have brochures of things to do in your area, but also in the surrounding counties.

I've not done this yet, but my best friend did and she said it was a blast. She and her date (3rd date I think) went to the Museum of Modern Art. The one here in SF has a great cafe and it's open late on Thursdays and free after 6.
She and I met in art school so we both have a strong appreciation of it as well as strong opinions. She said you can really tell a lot about someone in checking out modern art. Not only in how you see it but how you express your opinions/confusion/interpretation of it. Basically they played art critic commentary. Her providing the more academic pov and him doing the man-in-the-street pov. Sounded like fun to me.

I love first dates at things like fireman's carnivals, Renaissance Faires, museums, music or art festivals and sports events like baseball, football or hockey games.

Agree, he should at least choose one with a ripple or topping!!

I've gone golfing, go-karting, gone to batting cages, hikes, and to a museum other than the plain ol' coffee dates.
