I saw your post to Kristina, and again I thank you. I know it helped her a lot, as with the others. How are things with you, spring is here now, how do you feel about the change of the season? Isn't it great.. How are the chicks? How's work getting busier, with the season change I would think? How's your son adjusted? We miss you here, update us...

Hi Marie and everyone,

Thanks for asking about me.It's been pretty boring around here.It still is cold here but getting better. We've had a few nice warm days.Work is very busy,I am finally making some decent money. My son is adjusting very well, better than me I think.John had gotten a new job in January and its going well.We have been hanging out with some of the guys he works with and their wives, which has been nice to make new friends.

I was depressed this winter because of all the changes,so I did go talk to a therapist. She suggested I join a gym, which I did.I've put on some weight since I moved here,I just can't seem to get motivated with the cold weather. It's only been 3 weeks since I've joined but I feel better already.

We've hatched about 180 chicks so far and we got another 100 eggs in the incubator.I love this part of raising chickens. They are sooooooooo cute.We were suppose to go to a show this weekend but couldn't because there has been an outbreak of avain influenza in Rhode Island. The state vet quartined a 2 mile radius around the farm that has gotten it but we didn't want to take any chances infecting our birds. We will find out more Monday if they will quarentine the whole state.Which would mean no shows this spring and no selling or buying of birds until the ban was lifted. We both are worried because it is spread through contact and wild birds and the farm isn't that far away.If our birds get infected it means depopulation of all our birds and we would have to start all over again.John is one of the top white Old English game hen exhibitors in the country so it will be heck starting all over.It took him 5 years to get there.

My Mom and step Dad are coming up in June for a visit.I am excited to see them.I haven't seen them since the wedding.I am going to take a few days to go see them in CT when they are here.I also want to go the Fl on vaction at Thanksgiving. The holidays just wasn't the same here.Anyway, this is getting a little long and becuase we aren't going to the show we decided to take a day to ourselves and go to Mystic CT and see the aquarium.Have a good Day ladies,I'll try to post more often,it just seems like I have no exciting new,Hugs,Crystal

It sounds like you guys are doing great. Thats so horrible about the flu bug though, I hope that your chickens don't get it! I wish I could see little chickies....they always look so cute in the books and movies, all yellow and fuzzy...awwwww! lol
