Curious-help with an experiment

OK, I know we had this discussion before when icarrie received one of the callous, not so nice Match canned rejection letters but I am still curious to see one myself. I have not received one b/c I don't send out many winks on Match and any I do are met with non-replies.

So this is a funny question. Anyone want to let me wink at them and then send me the rejection email? :-) I'm just so curious to see what it says and if they have changed it any. And since you can check an additional "reason" why you are not interested, I would like to know what those say too (esp. since I sent one today!). I'll be happy to report back with results if anyone wants to help me out!

I will be watching this thread closely because I'm also curious to know if they've changed the wording. "Keep looking" indeed!

Thanks lg! I like your profile! Funny but not TOO funny and seems to show who you are (at least what I know of you from out here). Very genuine.

Well, OK. Here's what it said:

Header = "Keep looking. Other opportunities..."

Email text = wgb1264 received your wink and reviewed your profile, but is not interested.

Maybe it only lets you put in the extra stuff when they send you an email (lg sent an email to me after the rejection and said he didn't get the options) or maybe if you a nonpaying member. OK, lg. I'm gonna reject you now (despite the stellar profile and great variety of pictures) and see what happens. It is letting me check the "feedback on why we're not a good match" so I am checking them all. Hee, hee.

anyone who wants a copy pm me and I'll send the html - I'm not sure it cuts/pastes well. It basically gives the criteria as well as three other profiles beneath the message.

It's not a bad email all in all.

Thanks for writing to me, but unfortunately, we're just not a good match. Good luck in your search!

Our profiles didn't match on:

• Distance
• Values
• Age
• Lifestyle
• Physical Attraction
• Interests
• Personality
• Education/Profession/Income

Don't get discouraged!

With millions of singles on Match.com, you're bound to find a few that aren't right for you. Don't let that stop you; instead, search for and contact other members who are waiting to meet you!
Tip: To increase your chances of making a true connection with someone, click Do we match? when viewing that member's profile. You'll see how well the two of you match up by comparing your profiles. If you're convinced you'll make a connection regardless, explain why in an email!

That's actually not bad! A polite rejection. Not nearly as harsh as the "Keep looking!" and the blunt "So and so got your wink and is not interested). Maybe if you make more of an effort and send the email instead of the wink, they let you down a little easier.

Thanks for helping me out lg!

I do notice however that you can still reject someone with the additional feedback that your profiles do not match on "physical attraction". So you can still be a little too blunt and tell someone you think that they are less than pleasing to your eye. That's always pleasant to hear.
