Hi ladies,

What's the most surprising/funny/weird fact you've ever seen anyone post about themselves in an OLD profile?

I ask this question because in my dating profiles, I

I once saw a guy that had been married 6 times - and two of those were to the same woman.

<<< In addition to being true statements that are otherwise diificult to work into a casual conversation (to say the least...LOL).>>>

Well, at least you're honest. We've all run into major lies around here - the main ones being about marital status and appearance.

Cross dressers are more common than virgins. LOL

ROFL! Maybe that's an option for me in trying to meet women - spend more time at boutiques and department stores. ;)

Ok Chris... call me an idiot... (if you do, I'll hunt you down! LOL kidddding) but so are you saying in your OLD profile that you like to cross-dress? And if you are, are you asking our opinion on it? Sorry, just a tad dense lately!

Hi Kerry!

Yes, you are right about my OLD profile (what can I say - I'm a well-adjusted male who likes beautiful things.

Hmmm that's a good question. See the thing is, if you offer it upfront many women will go the other way b/c we all have pre-conceptions of what things are... I'm almost wondering if there's sites that cater to men or women who enjoy dressing up, this way you at least will be amongst people who understand. I think if you put it up on Match or any other mainstream sites, you'll get rejections based on that.

But, what do I know? I 'd be interested to hear others' opinions...

I once saw a profile where the guy was looking for a polyamorous relationship. The funniest part about that was that he actually emailed me - even though I specifically stated in that particular profile that I was Christian and waiting for marrige to have sex. Um, can you say "incompatible"? lol

Oh, there was also the guy who said that he was still living with his parents and had no intention of moving out, even after marrying. I think that was the wierdest. I hope he doesn't hold his breath.

There's a guy who routinely posts on Dallas CL that he has herpes. That one always makes me raise my eyebrows. I guess you're right, it's very easy to be up front!

I suppose there are such sites, though I don't really think of myself as an "alternative" type of man so I'm not sure how well I would do there. I guess I'm just difficult to categorize. ;)

I haven't discovered any sort of logic yet. Whether I include it in my profile or not, the volume of responses seems to remain constant. And sometimes women who I would guess based on their profile information will prove to be less than favorably inclined to it end up being willing to hear me out, or even downright receptive. (Of course, like Sisfox says, I do offer the prospect of a man who will prefer a shopping excursion to a sporting event - so I imagine that's perceived as an asset in many quarters. LOL)
