...about the parents leaving the two children, 5 and 3... In the mini van for over 5 hours. The children were both dead. Windows rolled up and they died from heat exhaustion or dehydrated. Probably both. First of all, I think it was here in Tennessee. Not sure, since I am so mad right now I cannot see straight.

How on earth could an adult, or parent leave a child unattended for that amount of time? At what point, one hour, two hours, would you say where are the kids, and then to know it was 5 hours!!!!!!! Those parents, whoever was in charge, should be jailed immediately.

Im steaming right now. What do you all think about this topic? Maybe I should ask Marie this in her member of the week post. lol Anywho. Im just so upset that something like this can happen.

Yes, I read about it, and I am steaming along with you!!

But, it is even worse than the details you gave. The woman who left them in the car was their foster mother. And she left them outside the day care center she runs!!! One excuse she gave was that she thought someone else was going to take them out of the car, their father maybe. I'm not a mother, but I absolutely can not imagine how stupid or thoughtless you have to be to do something like that!

I really hope they take away her other foster children, just to protect them, and take away her license to run a day care. To have this woman in charge of children is really scary!

Ok, well from the info I have gathered. There was one child in Memphis, and one child in Nashville area. I can see now where the two kids in the car came from. OK, so it was a co-owner of a child care center, and she and her two other children and neice when into the daycare, leaving the 22 month old in his car seat. I guess, she assumed someone else was going to take him out. The woman, then goes on a field trip to a circus. The child never got taken out. The mother, claims she thought he was in the daycare all day.

Well, let me tell you what. That woman will regret being so irresponsible. They are going to take her other children away now, and she will lose her license for that daycare.

Now, the child in Memphis I am still not sure about. Maybe that was the one about the father getting the kid out. not sure.

GRRRRR! Im mad. Woman like this should be sterilized! If you cant take care of them, dont have em. Being a single mother, it just hits home. I bust my butt to care for my boys and to think some woman just leaves her kid and forgot about him!! How can she do that?!

Well, all the Suzan Smiths, and the loons that drown their kids and try and say it is depression...well, there is something wrong with them no doubt. I just do not see how a woman, who gave birth to a child could harm them. I would never do anything to my boys. I wouldnt dream of it. I spank them, sure. I just would never want to hurt them to the point of death. Im sick at my stomach. It is just awful.

Its sad to think that someone could forget about a child in a car. A couple mins maybe, but I mean come on 5 hours?? The temp inside a car even with windows open can raise to over a hundred in less than 15 mins. Yuo cant leave a child in there even just to run into the store. Theses folks need some serious councelling as well as some jail time in my book.

I think it is very sad, and the thing that keeps sticking in my head, is the police said the child had burns on his cheeks from how hot it got in the vehicle. It makes my stomach sooo sick.

Poor baby. Hugs to you child where ever your spirit is.
