Don't know if his profile is real or not

Okie, I've been mailing back and forth with this guy. He has two pictures up (VERY HANDSOME). I don't know if they are real or fake. One 'looks' like a pic of him much younger (if it is him at all). The other is a close up of 'his' face.
I would comment on how handsome he is and he doesn't need OLD, that he could be a model or actor, etc. to get a reaction. He doesn't react to my inquiries at all!
His profile is great and so far his emails have been very nice.
He had his profile visible over the weekend but now its hidden but I can still communicate with him.
So how can I tell if hes fake or real?

Trust your gut.
I went through a similar experience earlier this year. I was contacted by one of the finest looking men I had ever seen in my life! But my gut told me otherwise. Well, after finding two separate profiles of the same hottie with different photos AND conflicting info. on the same dating site, I figured it was a scammer. I conducted an on-line search by searching for "Male Models and Actors" and sure enough, the photos of the hottie he used were all there. The name of the hottie he used was an Italian actor named Raoul Bova. Who knows, maybe it's the same scammer??
Try http://malemodels.50webs.com
Check it out and see if you find your hottie's photos there. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
P.S. Either way, I'd be very, very careful when arranging to meet in person (esp. someone who is gorgeous in his photo(s)). You could arrive expecting him to look like he does in his photos, when he may not be that actual person at all. Meanwhile, he knows exactly how you look. Catch my drift??

I don't think it was "wrong" per se, but I do know that I always hesitate to ask what a guy does for a living. I guess I think the way you do in that I don't want him to think that I'm asking because I want to know how much money he makes or if he's professional or blue collar!
As for the other question, I don't know how you worded it, but depending on how it was, it could have come across as more "disbelieving" or something. Kind of a "Are you real?" thing (I get that a lot from my ads on CL).
Well, this is exactly how I asked him:
"What kind of business do you have? Do you live in ?"
Just direct and straightforward (cus thats how I am). I guess he could've been offended. But then maybe hes a phony too.
