Hi cutie, it's just my two cents, so take it for what it's worth, but if he's using an alias and a pic that doesn't really reveal who he is, then it does sound like he's trying to be sure that nobody he knows in real life could find him on there. That may not mean anything more than that he doesn't want people he knows to know he's looking for love online, or it could be something less benign, like he's married and doesn't want his wife to find him there. In either case, I'd say trust your instincts, and if you think something's fishy, beware.

Just a caution never use your real name address or identifying local on the internet. There are too many crooks and data miners out there. If you have not read up on security then by all means do so.
He is being smart. The internet is great but you will not know until you meet. (by the way a webcam is a wonderful tool for revealing the person.)
