Forget about the Website and goodbye ...

Well I thought I had a positive way to contribute to this board by offering to redesign your Website. Its one of my best skills and it would have made me feel more of a solid member of this board. But its clear that people don't want me here (you know who you are). I even tried to apologize for the misinterpreted remark but you guys don't seem to care. All you care about is the fact I might have been rude to Jayce - someone I've yet to see post to the board since I started posting.

Well fine then - I withdraw my offer to redesign that stupid, ugly website and I will leave this board permanently. I know when I'm not wanted and I won't trouble you people further. Have fun with that bright, ugly monstrosity of a website with the cursor tail and the clashing colors that will cause you eye strain. What do I care? I have better things to do with my time and paying clients I could be designing for.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I volunteer to redesign anything for free ever again since it garners this sort of reaction from people.

Goodbye and good riddance to all the cold, mean-hearted people in here (again you know who you are and I'm not talking to the whole board). Thank you for making me just a little more cynical.

Gabi, please do not leave because of a few comments or opinions. You are alot stronger than that. It is easy to misinterpret on here as we have seen in the past. I hate to see you leave because of a few dislikes to your idea. It is an idea, not set in stone, and you were only suggesting it and I think it was a wonderful idea. WE all love your idea and all your great posts. Please, think about it seriously before you leave. We need your advice and input and fun style if nothing more. All of us are different here and that is what makes this board so fun. We all have opinions and can respond and debate over every issue under the sun it seems. We are women, we are going squabble, personally...I just wish it was about things more important like world peace or women's rights. lol PLease, dont leave, we love you GABI!!!

Whoa whoa whoa....FIRST of all, your comments in this post about our website are totally uncalled for. You may be angry and upset, but you don't have to attack something that someone else worked hard on....how would you like it if someone said those things about one of your websites?? Second of all, there is no reason for you to get so worked up over this....what other people said are their opinions...if we are going to get mad at people for their opinions no one in the world would get along, you also got some positive feed back so why leave b/c a few people made you mad? Thats just letting them get the best of you and what good is that going to do? There is also a little ignore button that allows you to IGNORE their posts if they make you so upset.

I can honestly say if this is the way this board is going to be...negative and everyone fighting all the time...I do not want to be a part of it anymore. When I came to this board 2 years ago it was an awesome place and until now I have never wanted to leave. Come on now ladies...lets shape up, we are ALL adults here and at the moment are acting like a bunch of 2 year olds.

Thats my opinion and if anyone chooses to attack it, as seems to be the trend here, go right ahead...I could honestly care less anymore because I am so fed up with what I'm seeing happening here.

Lindsay

Edit, I was re-reading and I noticed you said you've never seen Jayecey post....one of those reasons being is that here Husband is visiting her from Australia for a month or 2 and personally I don't blame her for not being around since she hadn't seen him since December. Jayecey has been a member of this board since before I started posting 2 yrs ago, so we all know and love her.

Linds, I do agree with you on the idea that we should all get along. Sometimes we all clash, but most times we all work it out. Now, I will not stand for you leaving just because of Gabi. IF Gabi wants to leave, that is fine, we will carry on, but do not leave too. That would be doing the same thing you are telling gabi not to do. Come on.....its okay. It will work itself out. We all have opinions here and can post happily and freely without attacking each other. I hope. Thanks for posting your opinion Linds and I really think we can all work this out without anyone leaving the board. Now, that to me is childish. No one has to leave or be negative to anyone for it. Let's just try to move on. I just hope you and Gabi do not leave the board. I would like everyone to stay and be happy. That is all I have ever wanted for any of you. hugs!!!

Gabi,

I read 5 positive posts and 2 negative posts regarding your design idea. I think it's a shame that you would think of abandoning us because 2 people out of countless Cyberconnections users were critical. I understand that criticism can be hurtful but your anger alienates everyone who uses the board and everyone who has been your supporter - with this and other topics.

You state that your anger is not directed at the whole board - only certain people; however, your message was directed to all of us and not merely the posters who left you feeling upset.

This is not the first time that you threatened to leave the board. Truly, we are strangers to each other who are really trying nonetheless to be supportive of one another. I hope that you choose to stay; however, if you find it difficult to deal with some of the feedback you receive, it might be better if you stopped posting here. There's no point in purposely putting yourself in a position of repeatedly feeling angry and/or rejected.

Wow..how childish! I am no longer surprised that you said rude things about Jayeceys work. Maybe you need to get some help with your temper.

Just to clarify. I had no negative remarks about Gabi's design. What bothered me was the way she talked about Jayecey's work.

I admit I did not click on your design idea, Gabi - but thought - wow - so creative/impressive/shows initiative - whatever the ideas were are besides the point - it is the step you took that spoke volumes. And yes I have disagreed with some of your approaches and agreed with others - the decision to step away from Lloyd and to be true to yourself and your heart. I know you saw even that post as cynical - I guess I didn't achieve the balance I sought to.

Please reconsider - and stay and be proud - continue to be proud - of your talents, skills, etc.

This is absolutely shocking. How dare you be so childish and insult someone else's work like that? It's obvious from this post that your previous remarks were not "misinterpreted"! You wanted to criticize her work and you did so. At least be a grown up and admit it!

And you have the nerve to say that *others* are cold and mean-hearted??? You've GOT to be kidding me.

Go ahead, be a child and take your toys and go home!

Hello everyone,

I think its time to move on to more productive conversations. Let's let this thread die now and get back to the topic of the board, please.

Thanks!

Gee, "Have fun with that bright, ugly monstrosity of a website"

Sorry you feel that way. This website was a joy to work on because it was about sharing, contributing, working together, it was about the essence of family that we all have developed here over the years. It was about giving and being strong for each other during the rough rides, and happy and encouraging during the great moments in our own personal cyberconections. We all shared in building it in some way.

No matter how many times I look at the cursor tail that you seem to dislike, it still spells "Welcome friends" and that's what cyberconnections is really about, not the webpage design, not the clashing colors that cause you eyestrain.

I've never been opposed to changing the look and I've always been open to new additions and ideas, ivillage does have some limitations although they recently developed an option for individual backgrounds. I've been playing around now and again with some stuff too. I'm not a webdesigner and I think part of the charm of our website is because it was made from everyone's heart. Our site was actually voted onto the top ten list at ivillage :), we were all very proud!

Many of us have been here for several years, some of us began on women.com and traversed over here. No one needs to come to my defense in my absence but I am happy to have cyberconnections friends who value my friendship and understand where my heart is as much as I value and understand theirs.

Good luck

Jayecey
