Ghosting?

Okay, now that I'm experiencing it, I just don't get it. What, exactly, is the point of ghosting?

Why do some men send an email indicating interest, you answer them back indicating your interest, you correspond for two or three notes, and then ... nothing! Can they really get that turned off by some inane thing you said in a 4 sentence email?

Even if they are corresponding with others ... so am I and everyone else on these sites. Why cut off contact practically in the middle of a conversation? I find it irritating.

The situations you describe don’t just apply to online dating.

Initially I didn't experience Ghosting, but I think it has happened three times now. Seems like a nice "It has been nice corresponding with you but I have met someone else/we are not a match" would be nice.
I guess there is no chance that they just forgot, or the email got lost? :)

That's only happened once so far.... I think. I was not that interested in the guy so it was okay, it would be annoying if I really liked the guy though.
I figure although it seems rude the guy has done me a great favor, why waste anymore time on him?

It's doubtful it's something you said, but

Possibly because they've found someone else they want to focus on for the time being?
