I've been on and off Match.com for about 9 months now, and have met several guys, but only one lasted for more than one or two dates. I'm traditionally attracted to a particular type of guy in the physical sense, and always have been, ever since my first boyfriend when I was 13.
Well, I've been chatting with 2 guys lately (haven't talked to or met either one in person yet). Ironically, they both have the same first name, which makes it very difficult! lol But anyway, one is exactly my physical type, I find him very attractive, and he has a great personality. The other I'm just indifferent about. He's not unattractive to me, as I wouldn't have started talking to him if he was. But I don't look at him and think, "He makes me tingle." He's, well, average, I guess. But on the flip side, so far from online chatting with him, he has a great personality as well, and we have a lot in common. (Of course, anything can change when you meet someone in person, as I've learned from OLD so far.)
My question is, to me, chemistry has alot to do with attraction, and without that attraction and chemistry, all you have is a really good friend. What is your opinion on being with someone with whom you don't have an initial physical attraction? Is is possible that one could grow based on the personality and common ground?
I'm just afraid that I'd like everything about him, but not be able to find him physically exciting, which would eventually make the other good things not look so good after a while.
Please don't yell at me, I know this sounds horrible, but it's a very real issue that we face with OLD.
Thanks!

This is a hot issue in real life, not only OLD.
Expereince tells me that if there's no physical attraction it won't matter how wonderful the guy is, he's not getting to 2nd base.
In any case, you haven't met him yet. Some people's attractiveness comes through in person not from a photograph. Who knows?
I advise you to check out not-so-hot dude in person before deciding.
