Going to meet this guy

Okay last night I got up the nerve to ask this guy if we should meet. He asked me what we should do, meet, that sort of thing. We both dont like coffee, and a movie on the first date is not a choice. See I am about to turn 21 in a little over 2 weeks. I found out that his birthday is 2 weeks after mine. So he will be turning 24. We both attend college, but we are 45 minutes apart. If we meet in the middle, we'll meet in the middle of a cornfield...yes I live in Indiana and go to school in the middle of a cornfield (basically). So should he come to my town or should I go to his town? I am really not sure that if he comes here, where we can sit down and enjoy each other's company, except for one little place thats open all night.

Also, when we do meet, what should I talk with him about? I don't know what else to ask besides talk to him about my day and how's school. I need some advice. Also we wont be meeting this week but next week. If I wasn't going home this upcoming weekend, we would meet then, but oh well. Another question: what if we get tea or some other kind of drinks (he doesn't drink alcohol, I do, but only when I am at home), does he pay, or do we split the check? how does that work nowadays? I need some advice please.

Thanks

He should come to your town, preferably during the day. Arrange for your own transportation to and from the meeting. Maybe you could meet for lunch or dinner? Also keep in mind coffee shops have lots of non-coffee drinks. Usually the guy pays for the first date.

As for what to talk about, your goal is to get to know him enough to see if he is someone you would be interested in dating, right? If so then you want to ask getting-to-know-you Qs, things like what he is going to do after he graduates, where he wants to live, what sort of things he likes to do in his spare time, etc.

Good luck! :)
