Gone for too long...

Married life wasn't as different as I thought it would be cause things didn't seem to change much between Jason and me. For the past months, I have been sitting around the house so bored till I did so much housework in this house than I ever did before in my home in Singapore. Heh. Starting next month, Jason and I will be going to school. It just upset be a little cause I will only be taking two subjects for this fall. We spent too much time trying to make the community college and university to give me more credits so I won't have to waste more time and money taking unnecessary classes which I have akready done before back in Singapore, that by than I sign up for classes, most of them have already been taken. Since I have not been going to school for 3 years, we decided to just take it as a warming up for me instead.

I'm going to get my work permit next month the 3rd and after that I can finally get me a SSN and start taking driving lessons. Its just totally ticked me off that INS did not bother to inform us that we could get me a Social Security Number right after I get pass US's custom with my K-1 visa and I-94 still valid, and we only found that out after my I-94 expires. Good thing college and university don't really need me to have a SSN when applying with them. Will have to wait till 2005 before I get my PR in US though.

Anyway, thats all about me for now. Take care all of you and hello to all the new faces on this board. :)

Hi Melly,

Nice to read an update from you. I have not been around when you have been a more active member here but I have seen your pictures and story on the Cyberconnections-homepage, so I am informed a little bit who you are.

I guess a lot of housework is what I have to expect as well in the near future to keep me busy while I am moving over to spend more time with my sweetheart in Canada (I am from Germany myself). We are planning on a 3 month-testphase first and if things go well I guess we are ready for more serious steps then. And of course I won't be able to work neither while being there as a tourist nor while being part of the immigration process later. Fortunately Rob just moved in his new house a few weeks ago and there is still pretty much to do, so I hope I won't become too bored while he is out for working. I am pretty good in keeping myself busy so I hope I will make it even through the Canadian winter which will probably start December latest. Time will tell...

All the best for you and your studies and keep us posted please!
