Got a Date

Well, I had my first conversation tonight with the cajun guy from match. He is a hoot! We are going to see the new Johnny Cash movie, "Walk the Line" and to a steak house for dinner. I have to listen closely to him sometimes because of his accent, which is sorta like a cross between New York and New Jersey, but he makes me laugh. Should be interesting with my southern drawl!
Wish me luck and I will let everybody know how it goes. Hopefully, I won't be too nervous. I felt very comfortable on the phone with him.

Good luck Stephanie. I don't do movies for first dates, since you can't really talk much and get to know eachother, but since you are doing dinner also, you can get to know each other then. Also, if I haven't met the guy at all, I try to keep the first meet kinda short in case I don't like him much or there is no interest for me.
I learned this lesson awhile ago when I had been talking and IMing with this one guy for a few months.. He was very articulate (a lawyer) and our conversations were great. He lived farther away and we met at a coffee house then had plans to go on for dinner. well I knew at coffee I didn't want to do dinner but had already said I would and couldn't think of a way to get out of it so I did it and felt terrible all throughout dinner as he really liked me and I knew I didn't have the same feelings for him.
So there were actually two lessons learned there for me, do a shorter first meet in case it doesn't work out, and don't talk so long before meeting and have false expectations built up - because until the face to face meet, you can think you are attracted to someone, but it is only until that actual face to face meet that you will really know if they appeal to you or not.
But good luck to you and I hope it works well for you.
