I'm so excited!
I'm not a guy, but I answered one of those ads once. Yes, it DID end up being a hookup attempt on his part, but if I was still on match.com, I'd do it again. I've met a couple cool people on CL that way.
On the other hand, I've always responded to profiles. Since I was on match.com to find a relationship, I'm not sure how I'd take it if I got an email from someone who clearly wasn't. So not creepy, but maybe a waste of their time?
I don't think it's creepy. If it were a guy sending it, I suppose interpreting it as a form of hookup-seeking would be kind of natural, but if it's a woman, not so much. Maybe the idea is there, but at least it doesn't leap out at you.
As already mentioned, it might be a little odd in the completely opposite direction, in that it seems maybe like you're using a site intended to meet potential dates instead to pump people for advice about moving. So long as the advice isn't your sole focus, it's okay:
Okay, well here's what happened.
